Announcements in Detail

  • 08.01.2008 - Newsco moves to new offices
    Newsco have moved to offices managed by Evans Business Centre.
    This is an exciting new development of offices which has has been awarded a BREEAM rating of Very Good for environmental performance.  The offices are located within the prime location of Orton Southgate which is within a mile of the A1(M) interchange with Fletton Parkway (Peterborough's ring road).

  • 25.01.2008 - Newsco wins contract to develop a Direct Distribution Newspaper Solution
    Development was completed mid April 2008 and successfully implemented to the 1st client site during May 2008

    April 2008 - Newsco Commenced development of a Data Archiving Solution
    The key features within the scope of the project were as follows;

    To provide a data archiving solution that will enable data that is not necessary for the day-to-day wholesale operation, to be removed from the live production database in both the short-term and the long-term.

    The purpose of this is to directly benefit the performance of the production database, and to sustain any performance improvement that is gained.

    The solution will comprise of a two-phase archive/report, purge/report design.

    It will be possible to access the archived data via the Newsco2 application itself from time to time.  Any reliance on the systems support to achieve this will be minimal.

    Data that has been archived and reported on will then be purged from the production database, subject to approval from an end-user.  A report will then be available, summarising what has been purged.

    It will be possible to specify how many previous weeks worth of issues to keep in the production database for each title frequency.

    Both the archive process and purge process are expected to be long-running processes, relatively speaking.  It will be possible to schedule these processes to run outside of normal office hours.
